A distinctly British sense of the uncanny

RM was born in Harlow, Essex in 1993. The son of a salesman and school chef, he was raised in Leighton Buzzard until he left home at nineteen years old, where he settled on the south coast after attending the University of Chichester.

Always with a keen interest in storytelling, he recalls being first inspired to write attending Southcott Lower School when he was seven years old, and from this point onwards would look forward to writing after school, frequently working on a new project.

His real inspiration came when he was on holiday in Portugal with his family at fifteen years old, where he recalls a dream so profound and otherworldly, he considered if he should write the dream down to sell to a writer more talented than himself. In hindsight however, he considers this his ‘Andrei Rublev’ moment, his inspiration to write.

Inspired by James Joyce, Dylan Thomas and William Blake, he remains a private figure unknown on the literary scene entirely, only occasionally attempting to publish short stories with little success, until the performance of his first play ‘How to Market the Bomb’ in 2025. He is now looking to publish short stories and his novel ‘The Master Abloo Effect’.
